This is the first post of my new blog. I have a little experience posting to a blog. I created a blog for the former Scrap Artz scrapbook store (http://scrapartzva.blogspot.com) (http://www.scrapartzweb.com) that I used to work at. The store closed the end of April. :-(
SO, here I am again. Lots is going on. The house is a mess. I'm waiting for the start of a major renovation project, this to begin next week. The house will be full of painters for the better part of two weeks -- their task: to strip gobs of wallpaper and paint all those walls with lovely paint! It's going to be a very messy two weeks, but I am very excited at the prospects of having this house finally be "ours." None of the old paint and wallpaper. I have waited YEARS for this!
Now that my daughter Stephanie has graduated and received her Master's degree in School Counseling Education, she has some time to hang out with her mom... me! She is hoping to hear soon about a job, but in the meantime, she is creating beautiful jewelry and selling some of it. She is working on getting a website up and running so she can sell online. I'm going to help her with that. We have gotten together a couple of times to create jewelry together. Between the two of us, we've got quite a stash of components. And it's really fun to get together to "play." On Tuesday, we had our most recent crafting extravaganza. And, as usual, we try to include lunch and some shopping to round out the fun.
To change the subject somewhat, I started working out at Curves last month. I received a postcard in the mail, offering a month of workouts for one low price. The other attractive feature was that this would be part of a study in conjunction with Avon. SO, I signed up in June and faithfully went to our local Curves, practically around the corner, three times per week for a month. Only dropped a couple of pounds, but lost 4 1/2 inches (2 1/2 of those from my backside). I figure I had a good net loss, considering that a month worth of workouts surely gained me lots of muscle, which, everyone knows, weighs much more than fat. When the month was over, I signed up for a year's membership, which also entitled me to start Curves Smart. This is a program that electronically monitors your workouts and gives you feedback to do more and work smarter. I love it so far and hope to see even more of that flab permanently leave my hulk of a body. So I weighed myself on our scale at home this morning. I have lost 5+ pounds so far. Stay tuned for updates.
So I also hope to post a customized JibJab video that I created today. (That's my cute hubby Bill in the VT cap.) Look for that. It's a HOOT!
Tonight is the Glenn Beck live broadcast from Dallas. Bill, John, Pat and I are going together to the Regal Virginia Center to see it. We could all use a good laugh.
That's all for now. This could be interesting.
