I'm sorry that you think the Republicans are "using this issue as a lever to bring about their view of radical change." May I ask you, sir, what are Democrats using this issue to do? Have you thought that maybe America NEEDS radical change? This country can't go on spending TRILLIONS of dollars it does not have. I do not want my grandchildren paying the damage the federal government is causing. I have no doubt that the debt limit will be raised once again. (Note that, since Ronald Reagan's administration, who Democrats take such pleasure in using for their own purposes, raised the debt limit 18 times, that that Congress (not Ronald Reagan) had to vote each time for this to happen. This is a good reason to extend the debt limit only as an emergency measure. Then, let's address the REAL problem: spending more money than we have. CUT THE SPENDING!! Cut taxes on businesses, so THEY can create jobs. That creates revenue.
I'm sick of the games. You guys are all flushing our future down the toilet. How much sense does it make to owe China anything?!!! Hire people to find all the waste in government! Tell people "NO," you can't have everything you want. Let capitalism and a free economy WORK!
It's amazing to me that you would bring Vietnam into this and that you would compare what the Republicans are trying to do to that. I'm sorry that this is hard and that some people might not like you for standing for common sense solutions.
You wanted the job. Now DO it! Do it for our future, not for a two-bit socialist who is "tempted" to do things on his own to "fundamentally transform" this country. If you do, you're selling our liberty.
Sincerely,
Susan Weaver
